Lauren is contemporary acrylic artist whose current work explores the vessel as a form, both functional and symbolic.

She is drawn to its simplicity, its history and its capacity to hold space and to express intention. Using a layered process of color, shape and pattern, she treats each vessel as a kind of visual sentence-part of an ongoing language she is still learning.

She is interested in the tension between structure and looseness-tradition and play. Texture is important. So is imperfection.

Lauren lives close to the ocean in Victoria and loves beach walks, teaching Spanish, yoga, her two black cats and the odd spicy margarita!
