Lauren Tune is a contemporary artist working across painting and sculptural vessels.

Her work is driven by colour, shape, pattern and texture, with a particular love of bold forms and imperfect, hand-made marks. Across both her paintings and vessels, Lauren explores repetition, balance and the space between structure and play.

Her sculptural vessels are individually made using paper-based and repurposed materials, giving each piece its own irregularities and character. Rather than aiming for uniformity, Lauren embraces the wonky, tactile and unexpected.

Living near the coast in Victoria, Lauren works intuitively, creating pieces designed to bring colour, personality and a little bit of joy into a space.

When she’s not making art, she can usually be found walking by the beach, teaching Spanish, doing yoga, hanging out with her two black cats — or enjoying the odd spicy margarita.
